At Star Light Learning Academy, we’re recruiting an experienced Childcare Director to join our friendly team.
Within this role, our chosen candidate will act as the strategic and operational lead of our academy.
If you’re successful in obtaining this role, your responsibilities will include ensuring that all children in our care receive an exceptional standard of education and are well looked after. You will also mentor and guide the wider team to ensure that such exacting standards are reflected across the whole business, including those that relate to health and safety.
You’ll oversee the daily operations, staffing, and enrollment, whilst ensuring that all policies and procedures are correctly followed, and regulatory standards are met. You shall also organize team training when needed, host regular staff meetings, and manage budgets and payroll.
You’ll be responsible for building strong relationships with families, and giving timely responses to parent enquiries. You will have the opportunity to regularly collaborate with the Assistant Director and owners to discuss strategic goals, and to ensure that a positive team culture is maintained.

Star Light Learning Academy is seeking an Assistant Director to join our team.
The chosen candidate will work closely with the Director to support the smooth running of our academy.
If successful in obtaining this role, your responsibilities will include managing daily operations, assisting with staff support, and contributing to delivering a high-quality, safe, and nurturing environment.
You’ll support daily scheduling, transitions, and room staffing, while helping to lead team meetings and training sessions. You’ll also monitor classroom activities to ensure that the curriculum is being followed to a high standard.
Your other responsibilities will include assisting with health and safety compliance checks, liaising with families, and providing front-of-house support. On occasions when the Director is away or otherwise unavailable, you will carry out Director duties.

Within this role, you’ll support different classrooms and age groups as needed, while upholding our preschool’s values and contributing to our positive learning environment. This role offers a great opportunity to build your experience, while gaining flexibility and confidence, supporting all areas of our preschool.
Typical responsibilities include assisting in implementing lesson plans, maintaining classroom cleanliness and safety, and establishing a rapport with children in different classes. You shall support the children’s routines, including napping, mealtimes, and toileting, and help with observing and record-keeping as needed.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking different meals for all the children in our care, while always ensuring that dietary requirements and allergens are properly met. For this role, you must be comfortable batch cooking in large quantities, and conducting regular food temperature checks. You may also be required to prepare snacks and clean cooking equipment.
Qualifications and Qualities:
• A current Food Handler Card or Food Protection Manager Certification
• Strong knowledge of food allergens and how to adapt recipes as needed
• Previous experience in a nursery or care home
• Able to batch cook in large quantities
